Fale Pasifika : These posts represent chiefly patterns - in traditional houses, different chiefs would be identified by patterns on house posts allocated to their tribes.

Fale Maota, Nofoali'i, Upolu, Independent Samoa, 2004. Tohi was invited by Tupua Tamsese Tupuola Tufuga Efi, now Head of State of Samoa, to do lashing inside his Fale Maota at Nofoali'i. There are approx 20 posts each with a geometric design at the top of each. There was an overall theme to the project which was based on historic interaction between Tonga and Samoa. In particular, Tohi was inspired by the lineage of the Vaetoefanga to the Tu'i Tonga. During the project, Tohi trained two Matais to help complete the fale and his title, Sopolemalama, was bestowed upon completion of the Fale Maota. .
